Rob leads engineering for Wayfair Native Apps (iOS and Android), where they are currently a 90+ team of Swift and Kotlin engineers, that run their own CICD with test automation, and have enjoyed the benefits of some of the latest SDK offerings from Apple and Google, such as Jetpack Compose, Swift UI and Combine, Swift Package Manager, Kotlin Coroutines. Over the last several years this team has done some amazing things, including raising the Android Play Store rating from 3.2 stars to 4.8, replatformed our key pages with 60% less code than legacy and a 4x improvement in speed. We've enjoyed strategic partnerships with Google and Apple that have powered some of the AI and Augmented Reality experiences that we've deployed. Rob's team also owns software engineering-focused quality tooling for all platforms (app, backend, and web), and he leads a company-wide initiative to bootstrap Wayfair's incident management processes, driving a reduction in time to detect major incidents from days to minutes, and a reduction in mean time to restore by 75%.
