Unlikely AI
Tom is currently working on a new AI stealth startup, Unlikely AI, focused on explainability, reasoning, and neurosymbolic architectures. Previously, he served as CTO of Stability AI, where he led the engineering division, advancing generative AI technologies such as Stable Diffusion and other large foundation models. Under his leadership, Stability AI-backed research communities produced breakthrough models in imaging, language, code, audio, video, 3D content, and biotech. He also helped secure access to the world’s fifth-largest supercomputer, the Ezra-1 UltraCluster, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. Tom was recognized as one of the Top 75 Innovators of 2023 by the World AI Summit and is the creator of DreamStudio.ai. Prior to Stability AI, he was the CTO of Chorus Intelligence, a global data platform for law enforcement, and the founder of the tech accelerator YouSoft. He also mentors founders at the University of Cambridge.

Removing the hallucination problem
Tom, a true leader in generative AI, will kick-off day two by delving into the critical challenge of hallucination in LLMs, exploring the underlying causes and examining cutting-edge research and techniques for mitigating and eliminating this phenomenon. He'll discuss Unlikely AI's approaches such as improved data quality, enhanced model architectures, and advanced training methodologies aimed at reducing hallucinations and improving the accuracy and reliability of LLM outputs.
