Ipshita is a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, where she leads the development of multimodal foundational models designed for edge deployment. Her current research work focuses on the unique technical challenges of building efficient, high-performing AI systems under resource constraints. Prior to this, Ipshita contributed to several greenfield initiatives at the intersection of spatial computing, AR/VR, 3D modeling, and generative AI. Earlier in her career, she worked extensively in the healthcare domain, where she helped pioneer AI-based algorithms for clinical-grade giga-pixel tissue image analysis at Roche, and later developed deep learning techniques for safer, faster medical imaging at the NIH. Ipshita holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where her research focused on applying signal processing and machine learning to medical imaging. She has authored numerous publications and patents and remains an active contributor to the AI research community both within Amazon and externally. She is equally committed to educational outreach and volunteering, and is a strong advocate for making technology accessible and impactful across domains.
