Guglielmo Iozzia is Director of ML/AI and Applied Mathematics at MSD, where he focuses on applying machine learning, deep learning and scientific computing to challenges across biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing. A biomedical engineer by training, he brings extensive experience spanning software engineering, data science and AI, including work on an automated visual inspection system that received a 2021 Manufacturing Leadership Award for Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. He is also a Distinguished Member of the American Society for Artificial Intelligence and the author of Domain-Specific Small Language Models and Hands-On Deep Learning with Apache Spark.
