Ourania (Rania) Giannopoulou is a Postdoctoral Researcher in applied mathematics at the Gran Sasso Science Institute working under the GrowBot Project. Her research deals with the development of a three-dimensional model describing the intertwining of growing shoots. Her general research interests are the PDE-based modeling and numerical simulation of physical phenomena with experience in diverse fields such as plant biomechanics, fluid dynamics and mathematical biology. She holds a Ph.D in applied mathematics from the Sapienza University of Rome and Bsc and Msc in applied mathematics and physics from the National Technical University of Athens.
