Lucia Nasti is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Science at the Gran Sasso Science Institute (IT). She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (IT) in 2020, where she worked between the research fields of Bioinformatics, Systems biology, and Formal methods. Her scientific interests revolve around the deep understanding of complex systems through a computational approach. In 2021, she joined the European-funded project, Growbot, whose goal is to build innovative robotic technologies taking inspiration by plants. Here, she applies Reinforcement Learning algorithms to analyze and understand the growth behavior of climbing plants and, specifically, how the plants are able to optimize the biomass distribution.
