Professor Hassan Abdalla (MSc, PhD, CEng, FIMechE, PFHEA, FRSA) is an international authority in the field of sustainable engineering design and innovation, with over 20 years of experience in academia. Hassan has been successful in leading several multinational research and knowledge-transfer projects. He is the author and co-author of over 100 papers. Hassan was the head of Product and Spatial Design incorporating the Leicester School of Architecture from 2003 to 2009, where he transformed the School, led the team to regain ARB prescriptions and RIBA accreditations and turned it into one of the best Schools in the UK. He was the principal investigator of several national and international projects and from 2009 to 2011 was a college Dean at UoS, the most prestigious University in the Gulf. He established the College as the design hub of the region and led the curriculum design and development. He made a substantial contribution to stimulating research culture across the Institution.
