Hasta Vanchinathan is Head of Applied Machine Learning, EMEA at Cohere, where he works on post-training, continual pre-training and model customization to improve enterprise AI across agentic use cases, reasoning, tool use, vision and multilingual applications. He has more than 16 years of experience across AI research, engineering and leadership, with previous senior roles at Amazon, ThousandEyes/Cisco, ShareChat and Facebook AI spanning recommender systems, advertising, ranking and privacy-preserving ML. Hasta holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from ETH Zürich, where his research focused on machine learning and recommender systems, with work presented at venues including NeurIPS, AAAI, KDD and WWW.
