Beyond the hype: Measuring real-world impact of generative AI

In this talk, Vatsal will share a practical framework for quantifying the real-world value of generative AI systems operating at scale. Drawing on examples from high-traffic consumer applications, Vatsal will walk through how to connect model performance metrics (like perplexity, diversity, and response latency) with business KPIs such as engagement, retention, and monetization.
Vatsal will cover how to design attribution and measurement frameworks that isolate generative AI’s contribution amidst confounding factors, how to measure incremental value when traditional A/B testing is not feasible, and how to align model metrics with organizational outcomes to demonstrate clear ROI. Vatsal will also share approaches for observability and continuous monitoring post-deployment to ensure sustained impact.
